Worship and Preaching

Books

If you are interested in developing and modernising worship in your church, to make it more accessible to groups in your church and local community, you may find a Fresh Expression of Worship of interest and wish to talk with the contact. You may also wish to discuss your interests with a member of the District “Worship Action Group”.

If you are a local preacher, reader or worship leader, you may also find the study days, training and workshops organised by LP Meetings and Circuits in the District of interest.

If you are a Circuit L(W)P Meeting Secretary, Tutor or Worship Leader Co-ordinator, you may also find details of colleagues in other Circuits useful. Further, we hope you will ensure your L(W)P Meeting and colleagues are well informed of workshops and study events in the District and your own workshops and study events are posted (button to Events). Please contact me, the District Worship and Preaching Officer, if you feel I can help you in any way.

What is the Worship Action Group?

This is a group of Champions for Worship drawn from across the District which includes members with interests such as worship for younger or older people or for wider community groups including different cultures. Members have roles such as youth worker, network worker, community worker, local preacher, tutor, worship leader, minister in our local churches and Circuits, and the remit includes enabling accessible, effective and sustainable worship in local churches and developing lay leaders of worship. The Group needs to know about worship needs and developments in your church and Circuit and any comments, positive or negative, about this remit and work would be appreciated.

Please contact the Co-ordinator or a member of the Group.

John Young, District Worship Action Group Co-ordinator and Worship & Preaching Officer.
