Training

Committed to learning

The Sheffeld District is committed to making available good quality and relevant learning and development opportunities for as many people as possible. A Training and Development Enabling Group, convenor Michael Sanderson, and Training Officer Caroline Riley are mainly responsible for this. Our aim is to equip people for the mission of the church, for example through quiet days and how to deal with difficult conversations, as well as for the ministries to which they have been called, through training for roles such as stewards and workers with children and young people.

Each year a prospectus of possible learning opportunities is sent to all churches in the District, which can be found here. (LINK to Learning Opportunities page) We have a team of very experienced people who are willing and able to lead these and other opportunities, their details are here. (LINK to Course leaders page) When courses have been arranged, they appear on this website for anyone to apply to join. Almost all of these are free, but our planning is greatly helped if people follow the booking instructions for courses.

So, if any of these opportunities interest you, or if you have ideas with which you think one of our course leaders can help you, please contact them directly or Michael Sanderson (01226 742644).
